Patriot Day
This morning, in celebration of Patriot Day, we had an all school assembly. We honored our military and first responder parents for their service. Our class also wrote letters to the Chula Vista Fire Department Station 8 thanking them for their service. Below are pictures from the assembly as well as our class writing their letter.
Kickball
Yesterday, for P.E. our class played kickball. It is similar to baseball where players kick the ball to bat it, instead of using bats, making it more accessible to children. As in baseball, teams alternate innings with one team attempting to score by having its players circle the bases and the other team in the outfield working to stop runs from being scored. Players on the batting team kick an inflated rubber ball to advance players around the bases, and thus scoring runs.
Dance
Our 6th graders have begun their practice for the 6th grade dance! At the end of the year, they will put on a production for their parents that features around 20 different dances. They are still getting hang of all the moves, but here is a look into one of their practices.
