5th Grade Math Module 1

This quarter in math we have started our first module in Eureka Math (previously known as Engage NY) on place value and decimal fractions.  Our second module will cover multi-digit whole number and decimal fraction operations.  Problem solving and justifying an answer will be ongoing throughout the year. 

We are well into Module 1 on Place Value and Decimal Fractions.  We are comparing and ordering large whole numbers, mixed numbers, fractions, and decimals. Students are using place value charts, models, and number lines as they apply the concepts to real world problems.
